Juliana Trail / NEW

New long-distance hiking trail - SELFGUIDED from €590

ALL FACES OF THE JULIANA TRAIL

A trail that does not conquer mountain tops but leads you in a respectful distance of the peaks along the edge of the Julian Alps and Triglav National Park.
It takes you where you will feel the true pulse of life in the Julian Alps and learn about the rich natural and cultural heritage of this magnificent and astonishing alpine world that abounds in biodiversity. It will challenge you to find your role in relation to nature and responsible tourism.

The Juliana Trail seeks different heroes – those that aspire advancement in their spirit as well as altitude. The Juliana Trail is a fairly non-demanding, educational, circular trail, inviting you to discover, learn and experience barely noticeable small natural wonders that can bring about an unusual feeling called happiness.

The Juliana Trail is a 267 km long distance trail around the Julian Alps. It runs through valleys, over passes, through forests, urban and rural areas, along the Soca and Sava Rivers. The trail runs across the areas around the Julian Alps mountain range. It starts near the Slovenian/Italian border in Kranjska Gora, which is a well-known winter and summer tourist resort, and continues along the Sava River, across the Karavanke mountain range, where it offers beautiful views of the highest peak in Slovenia, Mt Triglav.
You will start your 3 days/ 2 nights hike at lake Bled, one of Slovenian and European pearls, cross the Pokljuka plateau in the centre of the Triglav National Park, descent to the picturesque Lake Bohinj where you will explore the stunning Bohinj valley. We strongly recommend to spend an extra day or two in Bohinj valley and do a few center based self-guided hikes to the natural attractions such as Mostnica gorge and Savica waterfall.
