Bohinj Cheese Dairy

The entire valley is famous for its Bohinj cheese, one of the more respected and well-known Emmental cheeses in Slovenia. Since 1873, they have been making it from Bohinj cow’s milk, and it is still handmade and ripened at the Bohinj Cheese Dairy, the only production facility of this protected specialty. The cheese dairy in Srednja vas in Bohinj was established with the purpose of continuing the tradition of producing this cheese, and upon prior arrangement, they can present to you the entire production process. In addition to this cheese, they produce sweet cream, grated cheese and Mohant soft cheese, which is also considered a culinary treat.
